I
knew from a young age that I wanted to become an interior designer.
When I was 12 my mother bought me a sewing machine at a garage
sale. I began designing and sewing my own clothes and soon began
sewing my own bedding and draperies from vintage fabrics. As
a teenager I loved browsing the antique shops, searching for
treasures at flea markets and auctions and developed a passion
for beautiful furniture, art, and design.
I started my design career in 1981 working for California Furniture
Rental. I implemented and established accounts installing model
homes to housing developers. Two years later I went out on my
own designing model homes. My first client was Dividend Homes,
a major home developer. This opened doors to other major home
developers such as Pulte Homes, Morrison Homes and Shea Homes.
I worked closely with the jobsite superintendents and became
knowledgeable about plumbing, electrical, tile, sheetrock, and
carpentry. Little did I know at the time that the construction
knowledge I learned would open the door to the specialized field
of interior design that I work in today.
In
2001 HGTV came to the Bay Area searching for designers to feature
on the show. I was one of a handful selected and taped 6 segments.
It was very exciting to be able to discuss subjects that I love.

Personal
I grew up in Los Gatos California. My home today is about one
mile from my childhood home. My hobbies are ice hockey, mountain
biking, and training my two dogs Josie, a Standard Poodle and
Bella, an English Springer Spaniel. My husband recently retired
from the semi-conductor business and now works with me.

Philosophy
I do not believe a beautiful home has to cost a fortune, it
just requires an open mind. I feel the way one decorates their
home is the truest reflection of their taste. Whether you have
collected your furnishings from flea markets and consignment
shops or paid top dollar for custom furnishings all that matters
is that you have chosen pieces that YOU love.
